The US is heading for a Judge Dredd society, a police state (it's already well on the way) where the individual who is not wealthy is just trash to rub out at will.

Hell, a "Judge Dredd society" is nuthin'. . .. We're heading towards a Theocracy! (See recent SCOTUS "Crabby Patty" decision)

has the gb ever explained exactly how they supposedly communicate with god and get new light or other "inspiration" for their "spiritual dog food"?.

do they all sit in a room together and hold hands and join one conciousness??.

do they fall asleep and go to the dream world and talk to jehovah there like the movie inception or something??.

How in the hell could the GB members who brought up a change that wasn't voted in as new light not be DF'd for apostacy? How the hell could the GB members who voted against new light that passed the vote not be DF'd for apostacy?

Sounds like youre using those "independent thinkng/critical thinking" skills we were warned about!

My frist email letter from my JW Dad. So sad...

i am in my early 30s and woke up to ttatt in late 2012. my dad just turned 65 in june!

wow, i never saw that being possible.. .

he just got himself a computer and was able to get internet in a remote location where he is serving as an elder with my mom (where the need is great) i was happy to see how he was able to send me a few notes saying hi and i was able to share some pictures of my wife and family, etc.. .

So sad to know that your father has fallen under the influence of "Celtic Women." My wife loves them too!

But seriously, what you might want to appreciate about this is that you actually care about your father, and he seems to care about you (of course in a weird JW way).

If my JW mother died tomorrow, I honestly couldn't care less.

So although it can be difficult, enjoy what you have, as strange/disturbing/odd as it is.

Let's suppose I went back in time 30 years. . . . .

to my old Bookstudy in 1984. . . . . .

BOOKSTUDY: "BOC! You're from 2014!??!?! What is the new system like? Has brother Faithful been resurrected yet?"

Interesting WTFREE. I always kind of wondered, So who would they go to if they were threatened? The police?

Sure, for child molesters, we know that the answer is "NO."

But for apostates who threaten them with violence, no call to the police? What would they even say?

"We threatened to destroy this guy's family for buying a lottery ticket/thinking differently from us/etc. , and now he wants to kill us!"?
